Join us for a snowmobile specific Know Before You Go on 12/13/2018 at Pro Caliber Motorsports, Bend, 6:00pm. Presented by Mike Maurer. Mike is a past COAA Director and Professional Observer. He has been with Deschutes County Search and Rescue since 2010, is an Alpine Rescue Leader and runs the Avalanche Rescue Program. Mike is AIARE Level 3 trained and is an AIARE Level 1 and 2 course provider.

WHAT: Second annual fall fundraiser for the Central Oregon Avalanche Association.

WHO: You! And your friends! And anyone else who lives and breathes for backcountry fun.

WHY: Community, drinks & appetizers courtesy of 10 Barrel, DJ, photo booth (thanks Mountain Supply!), silent auction and camaraderie all in the name of supporting the local avalanche center and their mission of increasing avalanche education and awareness in the Central Oregon backcountry community. Yes yes yes. See you there!

The Bend Snow & Avalanche Workshop presented by Mt. Bachelor is the first annual gathering of snow and avalanche experts in Central Oregon. Join the Central Oregon Avalanche Association on the Central Oregon Community College campus for a full day of speakers from around the country touching on topics from risk and decision making to traveling safely through the backcountry to snow science and human factors. Presentations will benefit all experience levels and attendees will gain new tools and knowledge beneficial to traveling safely and having fun in the backcountry!

Mt. Bachelor, Black Diamond, Colorado Mountain College, Mountain Supply, Oregon Ski Guides, Ortovox, SheJumps and Three Sisters Backcountry will have booths displaying their wares and information.

The Crows Feet Commons Cafe and Picky Bars will provide coffee, oatmeal and bar samples to fuel the stoke!

Join us for a Know Before you Go on January 9th, 2019 at the Broken Top Bottle Shop, 6pm, presented by Timothy Peterson. Tim is an associate professor as well as the Outdoor Leadership Program Coordinator at Central Oregon Community College, has his AIARE Level 3 Avalanche certification and has completed the AAA AVPro professional avalanche training curriculum. He is also an Avalanche Level 1 course provider. Tim also served on the Central Oregon Avalanche Association board from 2014-2016.
