Written Report:
Toured on Tumalo yesterday afternoon. From the summit we could see cornice around pretty much the entire bowl. There was a chunk of cornice broken off roughly in the area of the large rocks in the middle of the skier side of the bowl. It appears that the broken off cornice started an avalanche approx. 30m wide that ran to the first small trees at the bottom of the bowl. Some washing machine sized hunks of cornice in the debris made their way to the bottom of the runout. We skied a couple laps in the trees through excellent snow with no issues. Very light wind, clearing skies in the evening and no precip.
