Written Report:
A friend and I were skiing on the cinder cone at Mt. Bachelor. There was a small cornice at the top that released a wind slab as I was skiing the slope. The avalanche travelled 400ft and stopped at treeline. I did not see the crown but heard it was about 24” and 30ft wide. No one was caught in the small slide.

Please be prepared with shovel probe and beacon, know how to use them and be extra careful in terrain steeper than 30 degrees.
