Written Report:
The snow/rain line Friday night seemed to hover around 7200'. Below that and in the trees there was a fine dust over a strong crust. Above 7200' there was around 2" of new snow. The previous light SW wind had pushed it around and left some areas icy, and others nicely laid in.

Digging above treeline revealed a less consolidated upper snowpack than we have been seeing lower down where rain has saturated the base. Attached is a pic of a shovel tilt test at 8300 where the upper layers between crusts slid easily.

... fortunately/unfortunately there is not much of load over these layers.
