Location: Tumalo Mountain
Riding Conditions: Terrible
Snow Conditions: Firm
Terrain Ridden: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Open trees
The Day Was: Cold

Additional Comments:
Tumalo Mountain on Saturday was frozen on all aspects, with no solar or radiation impacts tilting the scales towards the corn snow reported earlier in the week. The forecast dropped throughout last week, topping out at only 34' at 7K on Saturday, not enough to promote any sort of melting even with the clear skies. The north bowl had runnels evident, and while the skiing was hard, it was at least edge worthy. The route back up from the bowl on the NW side was icy and called for traversing around to the south side.
The south side run back to the TH was riddled with chicken heads. In the few open areas you could shoot for a turn or two, but most of the area was frozen snow shoe tracks so offered little in the realm of whoo hoos.
Would be worth heading back when it warms up, but until then it pretty bullet proof.
