Additional Comments:
I toured around Broken Top on Sunday. I skied several 1000 ft runs on 25-35 degree terrain on all aspects and did not experience any issues with the hoar layer. However, skiing up a treed ridge out of Green Lakes there were several times the snowpack whumped. I stayed away from these lower areas and stuck to alpine. The western side of broken top was knee deep light snow with no wind. North side was a mix between knee deep and wind effected snow from the NE wind. South facing stuff had gotten some sun and turned crusty.
