Written Report:
Remotely triggered a slide in west bowl of Ball Butte while traversing the upper ridge line Saturday. We were about 50ft from the true summit when we heard a loud whumpf. We found a safe spot to take a look and found about a 6-8" crown, 50ft wide that ran about 200ft. It released from the top of the ridge. A large rock was uncovered in the middle of the slide path. We spotted a few more shooting cracks in convexities throughout the rest of the day. There was not enough snow moving for a burial situation but definitely enough to knock you down for potential injury and if there were terrain traps it would be extremely dangerous.
