Written Report:
Skied Tumalo bowl this morning. There was about 4 inches of new snow in the bowl over a supportable crust that skied quite well. A hand shear test at the top of the bowl produced an easy result on the storm snow/crust interface. Dug a pit at the bottom of the bowl and found the buried surface hoar at 55cm. Test results were CTM on the surface hoar, and ECTX. Under the thick supportable crust there appeared to be some weaker snow but we couldn’t get any results during testing on this layer. Wind was moderate from the south. Skiing back to the car was fast and awesome.
