Written Report:
It was warm and sunny up at Broken Top today. At ridgetops a Moderate south west wind, kept some slopes from softening as much as they otherwise would have, but in general the skiing seemed pretty good on the sunny slopes that I skied (east through south west). While there were several D1 Loose Wet avalanches from yesterday, I didn't see any avalanche activity during my tour (I left around 1:30 pm). I didn't observe any other avalanche problems. I did see some of the surface hoar that Phil mentioned but it was limited to north slopes at treeline.
Beneath the bowl at 12:10 pm, 7330 ft:
There were a Few clouds.
The temperature was 3.5 C
Wind was Light from the south west although it was Moderate at ridge tops. Blowing snow was NONE.
Boot Penetration was 10 cm. and the surface snow was melting.
