Written Report:
Fairly inclement weather on Tumalo today. On arriving at Dutchmans at 10:23am there was moderate snow fall, but certainly a lot of moisture in there. I could see about 2-3cm of new wet snow covering up old skin and ski tracks from the previous day as I skinned up the west side.

On the summit winds where strong from the south west. Visibility was fair/poor as the summit was in cloud. The bowl had about 20-30cm of new cornice build up, stubborn to release on kicking. Below the cornice I could find about 10cm of new storm snow well bonded to the old snow surface.
The air temperature at 11:37am was -1c. While ski cutting below the cornice I did not see any signs of instability, cracking, whumphing, etc.

Leaving Dutchman around 12:30 the thermometer in my car read 39F and it was raining.

Phil.
