Written Report:
Tumalo Mountain. Dug a snow pit at 2,250 meters on a 15 degree slope near the summit on the W SW side. From ground level - 84cm of snow. 5cm of new snow. Wind slab from 76cm to 78cm. Ice layer at 47cm to 49cm with a weak layer of poorly bonded snow below it. Conducted compression test on a column. CT15 - with planar fracture. Wind driven snowfall. Winds W SW at 15 knots with gusts to 20-25 knots. Air temp 0 degrees. Visibility - poor. Decided to stay out of open bowl with 30+ degree slope.
