Snowmobile Ski or Snowboard
Recently I have been told Ive been using the phrase "amazing skiing" in each of my reports, today will be a great opportunity to break that habit
On Todd Ridge at 11:48am winds where calm to light from the north west, visibility was good with broken skies. No blowing snow, and only some small wind lip build up at the ridge. Temperatures had risen through the night and I measured 1C (34f) at this time. Tree bombs where falling.
The new 13cm (5in) of recent storm snow seemed well bonded to the old snow and quite damp. On top of the snow there was a new 3mm rime crust, I saw this at all elevations and aspects around Todd Lake. I didn't see any instability within the snowpack, or see avalanche activity. Nor did I see any Loose Wet activity, perhaps the surface rime crust was preventing snow from becoming entrained.
