Written Report:
Toured around Tumalo today. Widespread supportable melt-freeze crust with a slight trace of new snow from the 2cm we received on Thur morning. This new snow is well bonded to the old surface with drifting of up to 10cm on south east aspects in Tumalo Bowl. I saw no signs of instability while skiing in the bowl. There is no new cornice build up. The snowpack below the surface crust is well bonded and strong.

At 11:28 on the summit of Tumalo skies where clear with a light west breeze. Air temp was 0c. There was no blowing snow.

Skiing was still firm in the bowl at midday. Some slight softening on solar aspects.

Phil.
