Broken Top Area
I toured on south and east facing terrain on Ball Butte near and above treeline. The recent storm snow from last weekend has consolidated to about 5cm above the older snow.
Any wind slabs that formed during the brief storm last weekend have become bonded to the older snow surface.
I observed some previous roller balls, but no wet loose avalanche activity.
No signs of unstable snow were observed.
The ski quality was ok. There recent snow became a little sticky mid day. I expect in another day or two, we will return to corn conditions.
There is still a lot of snow in the upper elevations. I measured 290 cm (9.5 ft!) at 7200 ft on the south end of Ball Butte.
