Location/Elevation:
Broken Top Area
Report Type:
Snow Conditions
Travel Mode:
Ski or Snowboard

Written Report:
I traveled on SE, E, and NE aspects near and above treeline.
3 to 4 day old wind slabs were visible on northerly and easterly aspects.
Wind slabs were nonreactive during testing.
No signs of unstable snow were present.
No recent avalanches were observed.
Light blowing snow was visible at ridge tops during wind gusts.

High clouds were aloft most of the day. Light winds out of the SW-W-NW were present throughout the day with moderate gusts at ridge tops.

After checking out the snow pack in a variety of areas over the last few days, the upper snow pack appears to be right side up with no weak layers of concern.

With incoming precipitation and warmer temperatures, we will likely see some changes in the upper snow pack over the next 24 to 48 hours.
