Written Report:
Snowing and blowing with intermittent gusty winds out of the W/NW, heavy precip, and rapid warming. 30-40 cm of well consolidated storm slab was observed on top of an additional 70-80 cm lighter storm snow on all E to SE facing leeward slopes near ridge tops - upside down snowpack. This slab layer was well consolidated and poorly bonded to previous day's storm snow in hasty pits. We observed wide spread cracking with little to no propagation on 27 - 30 deg eastern facing slopes near ridge lines, and skied sheltered slopes of 30 deg. or less. No avalanche activity was observed.
