Written Report:
I skied on east facing slopes near treeline/above treeline on Ball Butte. There was 15-20 cm of low density snow over a melt freeze crust. The wind was out of the east and very light. The wind was too light to be transporting snow.
I observed no avalanche activity, no signs of unstable snow and no avalanche problems.
I also skied on east facing slopes below treeline at Todd Lake. There was 5-15 cm of recent storm snow over the melt freeze crust. I observed no signs of unstable snow and no avalanche problems.
Ski quality was generally good where the recent snow was in the 20cm range. In the trees, the new snow was less deep and gave the skiing a 'dust on crust' feel.
