Written Report:
Skied Tumalo starting at Vista Butte. The snow quality was extremely varied as you moved up in elevation. Lower down it was a light layer (<1") over the hard melt/freeze crust from last week, moving up in elevation there was deeper powder in the sheltered areas that weren't wind affected. Up on the ridge is was hard wind crust and rime with windblown drifts, but nothing substantial.

Cornices over the bowl weren't substantial, there were tracks in most of the bowl. I did a ski cut on the northern portion of the east bowl without any reaction of the snowpack. There was a denser 1-2" wind blown layer over the lighter powder from Friday-Saturday that cracked off but didn't propagate.

The north ridge "bootpack" pronounced sastrugi.
