Written Report:
Conditions were ideal until the last 500' of the peak prominence. Despite all the wind we have had, I saw very little snow loading on east and north aspects. The only sign of instability was in the choke of North Sister's east gully. I could start the approach still a mile below the bridge of NF 1514 due to fallen trees. The descent was safer traversing back through Pole Creek TH. Snow stop was two miles below that TH. Instead I could better return via 1526 overland to NF1514. The end of NF1526 was the intended start as it looked clear further up than NF1514. Mostly sastruggi and pockets of powder above tree line.
