Written Report:
The melt freeze cycles continue in the Broken Top area, although not so much of the melt today. A combination of overcast skies and a moderate northwest wind meant that most aspects and elevations above 8000' never really softened up to give good skiing today. At 2pm the snow surface on the west aspects of the bowl remained a frozen mixture of sun cups and ski tracks. Below 8000' on solar aspects the snow surface did soften enough to give some good turns.

At 9:48AM and 8800' on the southwest ridge skies where overcast with high cirrus clouds, winds light to moderate from the northwest, air temp was 1C (34f).

With the snowpack feeling pretty firm I did not see any signs of avalanche, or cornice collapse activity in Broken Top bowl today.
