Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, he grew up skiing in the Wasatch Range while being exposed to some of the finest avalanche forecasting personalities and organized efforts to promote snow safety and backcountry ethics. Trevor served as a member on The Brighton Resort (Brighton, Utah) pro patrol, he is AIARE Level 1 and 2 certified. Trevor had the idea of organizing Central Oregon backcountry users as a result of the increasing size of the Central Oregon backcountry community, lack of free community based awareness efforts, and minimal geographically relevant forecasting tools. His focus has been on establishing a proactive organization to support and organize the community to champion for increased avalanche education and forecasting in our region. less

years ago. After resort snowboarding for many seasons, she switched to two sticks and found pure joy in exploring untracked backcountry lines and plans to never stop. She is a certified Outdoor Emergency Care Technician and volunteer candidate with Santiam Pass Ski Patrol. In summer she trades her skis for a mountain bike and not so competitively ultra runs and rock climbs. She is excited to join COAC and utilize her professional background in community relations and project management to increase avalanche education and awareness in the Central Oregon backcountry community. less

Having already learned to ski he was excited to see his first mountains and soon started his ski racing career. His first “backcountry” experience was climbing to the top of Bachelor Butte at the age of 9 from the top of Black Chair. While earning his BA
in Environmental Studies and Education from the University of Montana he
became an avid backcountry snowboarder and AIARE level I certified. Now back
in Central Oregon with his family Dave is eager to help build a safer, more well-
informed, and vibrant backcountry community. less

Within weeks of relocating to Bend in 2015, he set a fast time on the South Sister climb that he would be trying to beat ever since. A deeper connection to the Central Oregon backcountry and the community began with completing his AIARE 1 course with Three Sisters Backcountry. When he isn’t spending time with family or working on his outdoor technology company, OuterSpatial, he is probably scheming up an irrationally long distance running adventure or ski tour. less

He and his wife have been visiting family in Bend since 2006 and finally made the trip permanent by relocating in 2016. He has completed his AIARE Level 1 and 2 certifications and enjoys learning about the snowpack almost as much as skiing itself. Given his day job in Saas sales, he relishes any excuse to get outside, but his real passion is sliding on snow, digging a pit, and sharing some snacks and backcountry lines with friends and family throughout the PNW. less

writing forecasts in 2020, and I’ve been a professional observer since 2013. I also work as an IFMGA
guide; taking folks skiing and teaching avalanche courses with Three Sisters Backcountry, and then
guiding rock climbing during the warmer months for Chockstone Climbing Guides. I live in Tumalo with
my family and enjoy putzing around the garden and reading all the books that I was supposed to (but
never manage to) read when I was in school. less
