Zone or Region:
Central Cascades
Activity:
Skiing/Snowboarding
Location:
Tumalo mountain
None reported
Took a lap in the Tumalo bowl. Approx. 8-12 inches of medium-high density snow sitting upon the stout crust below. Did a hand pit test and found the new-snow/crust interface to be unreactive. Dropped a large cornice into the bowl without any reaction. The riding was ok. New snow was soft but you hit the crust below when turning.
