Went for a bday tour yesterday, and the bday present was POW! Well, and that weird rime crust, which was strange but not a problem riding especially on a snowboard. Headed out to Ball Butte in the afternoon as the visibility was starting to improve, got there as one party of 2 was just leaving, they reported good conditions aside from that crust and left me a skin track for a bday present. :) Ridiculous views from the top. The top was right at the top of the cloud layer and they were swirling in and out, pretty surreal. Snowpack appeared right side up and no concerning layers or movement, only thing of note was the thin rime crust.
