Great skiing on variable snow throughout. Skied the NE bowl off the summit of Black Butte. During the ascent we climbed the East Aspect, snow through the trees was soft and fluffy, up into the bowl it alternated from powder, hard wind affected snow, sastrugi, rime crust and sun crusts. The various crusts were supportive and firm to start but softened and became quite carveable as the day warmed up. The softer powder at the upper portions of the NE bowl showed a consolidated top layer of varying thicknesses from 1-3". This layer appeared well bonded and non-reactive.
